Agile Austin Meetup: Two POVs! Collaborating With Internal Teams

August 14, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Topic: Two POVs! Collaborating with internal teams

They’re doing something a little different this time around – this group is going to have two talks from two different speakers around a similar topic: Collaborating with our internal teams to build better products inside and out.

First up: our very own Christa Meck will dazzle us with Integrating Shared Services with Their Customers.

While we often think of “customers” as those end users who purchase our products, the definition of “customer” can be different for internal teams. Kasasa’s IT team not only supports every single user in employment with the company, but is heavily integrated with the Events Team to ensure Badass experiences at events. Our Architects are working with developers but are also integrated with Marketing, Product and Sales. Hear about these “happening now” inter-team relationships at Kasasa and our plans for additional relationships on the horizon. Who are all YOUR TEAM’s customers?

Then Atlassian’s Zuzana Sekerova will give us some insight on how Atlassian is Improving the Product Experience: From Sales to Design

Are you using all of your customer-facing channels to inform your design decisions? Turns out your UX team could be much larger than you think and include customer service, support, and sales. Through more than 1500 conversations with prospects each month, Atlassian’s pre-sales team of Product Advocates synthesizes valuable learnings from the frontlines and shares them with their design and product teams. Learn how Atlassian engages with their potential customers, how you might be able to leverage knowledge from others in your organization, and how to capture key insights that influence product selection, purchase, and user activation.

We’d love to hear your feedback on how this format works for you!

Speakers: Christa Meck and Zuzana Sekerova

For over 20 years, Christa has been helping teams find sanity in the chaotic world of Information Technology. As a Scrum Master at Kasasa, Christa introduced Agile to non-development teams with heavy interrupt-driven work and showed them it’s possible to complete projects too! With a diverse background in system administration, project management, customer support and QA/QC, Christa is able to see a broken process from many different perspectives, and use that knowledge to help guide continuous improvement.

Zuzana Sekerova is a Program Manager for Experiments in Product Advocacy– a pre-sales team at Atlassian. Product Advocates are focused on helping prospects understand Atlassian products and help them make a purchasing decision. For the past three years, she served as a Product Advocate in that group, engaging with and supporting potential customers. She is based out of Austin, TX.

Zuzana joined the world of tech after a professional career in gymnastics and competing in two sets of Olympics (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004). During her studies in Interaction Design and Game Development at Savannah College of Art and Design, she focused on a variety of Interaction Design from Flash games to what were then considered more experimental ones leveraging camera vision and accelerometers.
