Agile Austin Meetup

March 12, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Topic: Systems Thinking Workshop

Most major agile frameworks talk about utilizing “systems thinking” to improve our agility, but very few go much beyond just telling you to use it. What is it? How does it work? What are its benefits?

Systems thinking is the broad, interdisciplinary study of how things operate and interact. It can be applied to almost every field out there from ecology to government to science and even to football teams. It gives its practitioners the tools to define the system, understand how the system operates, and gain mastery of how to get predictable results out of it.

In this workshop Lee Allison will be giving a quick overview of the basics of systems thinking. You will learn:
– How to identify a system’s parts and interactions
– How to identify its inputs and outputs
– How to work with its feedback loops to get predictable results

Speaker: Lee Allison

Lee Allison has been involved in IT since leaving the US Navy in 95 an has performed project management roles in the largest corporations in the world.
